Welcome to Terra NW

About the TerraNW Program

TerraNW is a regional economic development, sports and tourism program built around winter sports.  With a mission of introducing the world to opportunity in the Canadian and US Pacific Northwest, TerraNW aims to connect national teams and elite athletes with sustainable training, competition and marketing opportunity as they prepare for international events, including the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Under the guidance of the Pacific Northwest Economic Region, TerraNW partners include the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta and the U.S. States of Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Our Objectives

Sports
To be a starting point for national teams seeking training venues, logistical support and community resources as they train for international events, including the 2010 Olympic Games.

Tourism
To build a global awareness of tourism and business opportunity in the U.S. and Canadian Pacific Northwest.

Economic Development
To connect private business and other organizations with sponsorship and visibility opportunities associated with national sports teams training throughout the region.

TerraNW is a program of the The Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER). PNWER is a statutory, public/private partnership that serves as a forum for developing policies and making decisions about regional growth issues in the Northwest states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and the Western Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon Territory. PNWER promotes greater regional cooperation by governments and businesses to enhance the region's global competitiveness, while striving to maintain and improve its environment.
